Hiya!
For a few weeks I was a fool, plugging my landline phone into the openreach port until I realised I had Digital Voice (No letters or emails regarding that!)
Unfortunately I do not wish to purchase those WiFi adapters for Digital Voice. Do you think this setup would work? The 2 ADSL filters are the only way i could think to get them long enough - is this going to impact call quality?
Additionally, is this going to work at all? I still have FTTC - but the extension sockets would work, not sure about now.
Thanks!
It'll work, badly, but it will work - though I'm not sure that you'll be able to rely on the phones actually ringing out! You should be able to get a double ended BT 431A/631A cable, which might help if the phones aren't ringing. But I hate to think how bad your WiFi is with the router right up against the wall in a cupboard and sat ontop of a metal box.
Haha! The white Ethernet cable is connected to a router outside of that cupboard so we don't even really use the BT network at all.
Thanks - it appears it does not work with this ancient BT Inspire 1500. I will have to find another solution!
The adapters aren't WiFi, they are DECT.
You just need to isolate your extension wiring from the incoming line and connect it to the green socket on the hub.
No idea what you are trying to do with filters.
The cable was too short, so this was the only way I could find to get it done! Thanks for your info.
