I'm now on Digital Voice can I still use my old answering machine

I've just been switched to Digital Voice but my old answering machine seems to have stop working for new messages although the old ones are still there. 1571 is OK but only retains messages for a short time. Is it possible to disable 1571 and revert to using my answering machine as previously.

@david1982

Just increase the number of rings before 1571 answers the call, that will give your answering machine time to answer the call.

Thanks @Keith_Beddoe I seem to have lost the facility on my answering machine handset to adjust number of rings additionally  I have now lost Caller Display which was available  earlier today. What's happening ?

@david1982  You have to enable caller display. The settings on your answering machine would not have been affected.
