My mum was with BT which she has been for a few years. She was offered a deal with Sky and they agreed to port her number over from BT. However this didn't happen and Sky haven't been helpful at all in the situation. She has now placed an order with BT to move back. They have said they won't be able to get her number back until she goes live with BT again. She has a random number on her order confirmation showing.
We did call up to confirm and they said nothing could be done until she has gone live. Just concerned she won't be able to get it back. Her go live with BT is within the 30 days I have seen on this forum. However she was on digital voice with BT and will be again this time.
Is there a specific department within BT we need to be speaking to?

I understand you must be very concerned about your mum getting her number back, especially after what has happened when she's moved. We aren't able to move numbers until a number is live, but one she is up and running then the team will absolutely be able to help. Right now, there will just be a number assigned as a placeholder, while the order goes through.
