Limit to amount of phones?

Hi There,

We just got Digital Voice and have the 2 supplied handsets and wanted to put some more in various rooms for convenience but I wanted to check what the limit is for the amount of connected handsets?

Thanks in advance

Re: Limit to amount of phones?

from searching the forum which I assume you also tried there is no certain number of phones that can be connected.  the best was 'suck it and see' so just connect until it does not work

Re: Limit to amount of phones?

If there is a limit it will be on the number of base units connected by wire.  So if you have one base unite and a phone, and an additional phone with it's own charger - that is ONE.

One base connected unit with four handsets is still ONE.

Not found anything with a limit on physical connections but then they are now like Internet devices rather than connections draining the old copper system. So there may be no limit.

Re: Limit to amount of phones?

@WelshDave   For  DECT cordless phones registered directly to the Hub, I don't have the answer.  It may be in somewhere in BT's literature.   You can register cordless phones other than the ones supplied with Digital Voice, but different makes and models may not be fully compatible;  for example you may find that a handset does not ring on incoming calls.

If you are connecting a separate cordless base unit (or indeed any corded phone) to the phone socket on the Hub, you might find this link useful:  https://bt-digital-voice.blogspot.com

Re: Limit to amount of phones?

There is no limit except for how many you can connect or need, BT will supply 1 free Alexa or 2 Essential handsets free, after that you can purchase extra handsets as needed.

Re: Limit to amount of phones?

@WelshDave   Some useful information at this site:  https://www.britishtelephones.com/btdigitalvoice.htm   It quotes from a video published by BT on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARxwt3XLShE ) which states at 3:16 that a maximum of five DECT handsets can be registered to the Hub.
