I am in the process of replacing my BT Digital Voice phones with my old landline phones using an adapter which is on order.
I want to turn off the voicemail provided by BT completely as the phone I will be using has an answerphone which I want use use instead.
I have looked at the voicemail on my home page but it only allows me to change how many rings it waits before answering. I do not want to rely on having DV set to a larger number of rings than my home phone will use.

I had already checked all that and no setting the number of rings is not sufficient. I want it completely turned off!

Log onto your MyBT and go to "My Products" then "Digital Voice".
Go to "Cancel Calling Features" and enter your phone number if required and click "Continue"
Then select "Remove all my messaging features"
Hi. Tried to do this. I go to my bt. My products. Then no digital voice button? Surely turning off a basic feature shouldn't be so relatively difficult? Any help appreciated. Ta
Go to My Products > Digital voice and scroll down. There is a Cancel Calling Features button. Follow the prompts.
