Last October/November I received emails, letters from BT saying that I was gonna be switched to Digital voice. It said within 30 days..
Nothing has happened and no more communication ever since.
Is this still a thing ? LOL
I was told June originally. Actually took them until September, so I'd hold on if I were you.
The later, the better. Enjoy having a 'proper' telephone service for as long as possible!
I wouldn't bother, its **bleep** compared with the older digital system X, drops calls and when you answer there are 2 or 3 seconds before the transmission starts
Yes it's still a thing.
Everyone is being upgraded to it eventually.
When I renewed my contract with a higher speed, I was moved over to it.
downgraded by the look of it
Yeah it is in some ways 😕
It's needed though because the PTSN network is slowly being retired, but people still use landlines, so DV is the solution to route all that over the internet instead.
So all providers, that still provide landline, are being switched over to the new system too.
I found a government website with more info on it:
