Hi, yes I have full fibre to the premises with an ONT.
Worth noting I am on a 75 down 19 up package. I tried 500mb package and it just made it worse. It was more stable gameplay with my current package. Thanks.
I can't see the person who were currently speaking to say that before they replied to me. Maybe i'm missing something.
This isnt a reliable result though really, WIFI from your phone will add latency.
Connect a laptop/desktop to the router and perform the same test over ethernet. That will be your true result.
Edit: Unless cloudflare is testing latency between the remote BT server and a gaming server?
Jitter seems rather poor on an unloaded connection - should ideally be at least below the latency. I want to say its down to bad luck and other devices using WiFi/ interference but the fact you say this is repeatable makes me iffy. As its a full fibre line, have you tried turning off an on the ONT? Quite unlikely to make a difference, but possibly worth trying.
I have actually seen resetting the ONT fix poor gaming before, if I had enough time I could dig that post out.
That is an ideal test yes, Wi-Fi can have various interference and variables. I appreciate most don't have a laptop/desktop with a wired connection anymore though and the fact they say this is consistently repeatable with a strong connection makes me iffy. The reason i like the cloudflare test is it takes various repeats and excludes one-off outliers, which can make the wifi-result slightly more reliable.
I've now tried switching the ONT off and back on, also reset it via the pinhole on the side to no avail.
One thing I haven't mentioned is, gameplay has always been much worse when I join a playstation party, instantly the second I join it happens. This is another reason why I think it's something to do with BT.
I'm going to try and get an engineer to come out. This has been done twice in 4 years, both times they check the speeds and say its fine.
I'm going to insist that they check a couple of times while and ask if they can check ping.
Also hope the gaming router will help in some way.
Thanks for all your help and posts guys.
