Devices connected to a BT Disc aren't being seen as connected to the same network as another device

I have a smart hub 2 with one connected BT black WiFi disk.

I have lots of smart gadgets connected through the house and external, all work and connect fine on their own.

However  there are some devices that can connect to one another, e.g. laptops to WiFi printer and Google next to Google mini, smartphones to chromecast.

Unless the devices are connected to the same part of my WiFi, either all connected to the smarthub or all connected to the disk the devices can't "see" each other. This means I struggle to print or play music through multiple Google devices (home group) or can't cast from smartphones to Chromecast.

I need the disk to work with the hub otherwise not all devices can receive a strong signal from the hub alone.

My BT app however says everything is connected OK, all with good strength signals.

Any advice here?
