How to connect. ASUS RT-AC86U. direct to ONT

Hi Guys,

 

Just getting this in a day or two  ASUS RT-AC86U.  to see if it helps with speed issues,

 

I know normally this would need to connect to a modem,   

 

but am I right in thinking it can connect direct to the ONT,

 

if yes is it easy to setup?

So, I'm still awaiting the install of my service, but yes, you should be able to connect your own router to the OpenReach ONT using the "port 1" ethernet socket.  On your router you'll need:

Wan> Internet Connection:

WAN Connection Type: PPPoE

Username: btbroadband@bthomehub.com

Password: BT

 

Search and you shall find, that info must be posted in this community hundreds if not thousands of times!


I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
