Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
Yes, it's ridiculous - mine has been doing this since 18th Feb now. I wonder how many more people are out there with the same problem.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
If you read my post, I never said that was what the engineer said, it was my own thoughts. Regardless, this has been going on since they switched me to DV in mid-Feb & I'm rather fed up with having to constantly communicate with BT. I have also tried every suggestion made on here.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
Groo I will update you after the weekend. At least my engineer showed me the msge he sent to BT telling them that he thought it might be a faulty Data Card so that is logged in case this 3rd router does the same.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
Just been looking through this thread and what seems to be overlooked is that even the Ethernet connection to the TV is losing its Internet connection. So all this talk of interference on WiFi seems a bit of a red herring.
Saying that, changing the power supply, and/or checking for other devices that may cause interference on the house wiring if you can, is always a good idea when things are getting quite baffling. Even if there are steady lights on the hub or whatever. But looks like this has been done.
Although unlikely it seems that hub itself is losing its network broadband IP address - but I’d of thought the hub would show a steady orange or something other than blue - or its pool of internal IP addresses is running out. But it all sounds very odd..
Just to keep me right, does the Phone also stop working ( no dial tone / incoming or outgoing calls) when the internet goes down?

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
In my case the phone ( which was changed to Digital Voice when I took out the new contract) still works.
We have changed nothing on our internal wiring nor got any new appliances etc & we had no problems with internet previously. Up to now the 3rd Hub is working but we shall see.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
Thank you so much for your reasoned reply. As you note, I have done just about everything, as indeed have the various engineers! Each of the 3 new hubs came with a new power cable & I use the new one each time. Nothing in my house has ever interfered with the old router, nor do I have anything which would randomly do a power surge. And the phone also stops working when the hub throws its tantrums; in fact I have disconnected the phone from the hub because I never use it & only had a landline for power cuts which, of course, is pointless now that the landline depends on wifi!
It also seems to be actual websites it can't find - these are 3 of the usual error messages that appear:-

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
@pddco is right. I have a hardwired gaming/work computer and have been having the same issue with that. Really struggling to work during the day since we swapped out our old router for DV. I'm a DPO and engaged in SharePoint development, redaction and have 40 clients to look after.....really really struggling.
After an horrendous two hours trying to get some support from BT website yesterday, round and round a loop remote resets that hung my browser, although (with my hub up in a browser window ) I could see that I remained connected, I decided to "ping -t www.google.com" whilst gaming last night. I have 240 pages of pings from 10:40 to 01:20 last night which show 20 drops, that's one every 8 minutes or so (its happened twice while I've been writing this).
I've manged to run a "trace route" during a couple of the drops and the problem is not with my router, it's at a remote switch as far as I can tell.
Going to spend the the rest of the morning trying to sort with support. If I don't get anywhere I have the email addresses of the Chief Exec and the Head of customer services and will send the pings and traces to them.

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
That's brilliant! In my case, the BT & Openreach engineers all said it must be a remote something at the main BT bit not the local exchange or cabinet (sorry, completely non-tech description on my part!), which sounds like the remote switch you have mentioned. But the BT message guides, while being helpful, are ignoring that no matter how many times I, & the engineer reports, say it. Mine has already dropped again this morning, and I am trying to find the will to do another webchat with a Guide; having done 10 of those already, I have already wasted approx 20 hours on those.
When you get as far as contacting CEO & head of customers services (which you probably will have to resort to) please can you emphasise that you are not the only one. I assume it would also be useful, if/when they find the real cause, that you could tell us other sufferers so we can tell the Guides/engineers exactly what to do.
Thank you so much for the (very small) light at the end of a (very long) tunnel!

Re: New hub keeps losing wifi connections, even though blue lights lit
Yes, it will come to that! managed to get support on the end of a phone. He did a factory reset and asked me to swap around my ethernet connections. Seemed to work, or at least for the 10 minutes or so that we waited to check during which time I kept the pings running to I could spot a dropout. When we went I kept the pings running while I made a cup of coffee, and in that 20 mins I had three drops. Getting nowhere with this, excepts I have to work round my devices adding the awful password that comes with the router. Don't want to change anything like change wi-fi password after the factory reset, in case I get accused of messing things up.
I have another 200 pages of ping logs for them!
