Panasonic TV issue

Not sure if it’s a BT issue or my Asus router

just upgraded to a Asus RT-BE88U router connected directed to the ONT

My Panasonic TV won’t get internet access, connects to the router fine but that’s it

All other devices are all working without issues and TV connects to my phones hotspot without issues

Re: Panasonic TV issue

Reset the TV to clear out the old IP address and gateway settings and then connect again.

It is not a BT problem.

Re: Panasonic TV issue

@Dazza1

If you've switched from a BT hub to the Asus you'll find that the BT hub uses the IP address range 192.168.1.nn whereas new Asus routers seem to be using 192.168.50.nn so your TV will probably have the default gateway set as 192.168.1.254.

Simple solution is just assign the IP address within the TV to match the Asus's range or change the Asus to use the 192.168.1.nn range as I did when I got my new RT-AX5400.

Re: Panasonic TV issue

Have you set your new router to PPPoE and input your username/password?

Also make sure the cable connected to the ONT is connected with the correct WAN port configuration on the router (see router manual)

It looks like your router doesn't have an internet session active.

Re: Panasonic TV issue

The OP isn't having a problem with his router, it is just the TV.

@licquorice

Going by the graphic, his TV is connected to the router with the router generated IP address but his router does not have an active internet session on the WAN.

Re: Panasonic TV issue

Forget the graphic, read the original post.

The OP says other devices are working ok.

Re: Panasonic TV issue

Based on experience with other peoples equipment (mostly Samsung, Sony, LG, & TCL) I'd not use a ' in the network SSID and possibly set up a guest network using just WPA2-PSK so you can force that lower level of encryption.

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!

Re: Panasonic TV issue

This is a Known Issue with Panasonic TV Sets I have experienced myself. Switch off set and remove mains plug if this will not work after rebooting the TV. Select the 2.4Ghz network and it will most likely connect to that. The set usually sees two ssid networks for the same Hub. select the other one from the List this will be the 2,4Ghz ssid . Mind you I have only seen this solution work with the smart hub 2. Don't mess with your router this issue is well documented on YouTube. Even had mine reconnect on occasion to the 5Ghz only to drop again always stable on the 2.4Ghz Band.
