That's in the DHCP range. If that has been set as a static address on the Heatapp hub it could clash with another device. Set the address to 192.168.1.10 and then configure the port forwarding to that address rather than the device name.

when I click on my network within the hub admin area port2 which is the port connected via Ethernet cable it always shows IP Address 192.168.1.246 - even when I change it to end .10 as per your last message - any ideas why t defaults to the number ending 246?
Where did you change it? You need to change it on the Heatapp hub not the BT hub. You need to configure the Heatapp hub as a static address rather than obtain an address automatically with IP address 192.168.1.10, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and Gateway 192.168.1.254.

any idea how to change the heat app hub settings ???
it used to work perfectly and something has certainly changed - I was hoping for a quick fix within admin settings Of my router.
I have no idea, I don't have a Heatapp hub.
As I keep saying, I am extremely doubtful port forwarding is required or that is where your problem lies.
You could try factory resetting both hubs and set up from scratch again.
Does anyone use portforwarding to control heating when away from home at all?
I can successfully portforward when at home just not when on 4g or 5g which uses same ports etc
I have moved your post onto your previous thread regarding this "issue" so that it save anybody repeating what has gone before.
You should not need to use port forwarding.
Most heating services use their own servers that you log onto with their app and then it "just" connects you to your heating system. This works using either an Internet connection or when using a mobile 4/5g connection.
I would suggest that if you are having a connection problem that you contact the Heating service that you are using and report the problem to them.
