Smart Hub Powered from car battery.

Hi all. 

Just planning ahead really for any national power outages. 

Has anyone powered their hub from a fully charged car battery. 

1. Did it work successful?

2. Any other problems encountered,?

Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work, just bear in mind that DC is polarity conscious and if you get it wrong it could damage your hub

Probably be able to get it to work but not for long, car batteries aren't any good for storage they're used to deliver short bursts of high amps not to trickle out energy.  Recently changed my car battery and was trying to find things to use the old one for, sadly no use for storing energy.

You need to use a leisure battery not a car battery, leisure batteries are designed for float charging and lower current loading as they do not have to start a car.
