The first thing to do is turn off Smart Setup on the hub
https://www.bt.com/help/broadband/what-is-smart-setup-on-the-bt-hub--how-can-i-turn-it-on-and-off-
What service did you upgrade from, was it BT or another provider?
have you turned of smart setup as per @licquorice
I suspect that you may have an IP conflict, this is easy to overcome with the right knowledge but if, as you say, you are not technical then the easiest way around it is probably to perform a factory reset on the printer
Thanks licorice.....never knew such a thing existed.......but it didn't work
from original post you say your printer is actually connected to internet just laptop will not print assuming you use windows if you go to settings then devices then printers and scanners can you see your printer there? if so select and what happens?
imjolly - yes I had done all that. Shows as default printer and actually shows it is in the printer queue but then before it prints it says error.
Have you actually factory reset the printer rather than just turning it off and on again?
