Hi all, is there plans for BT to have a newer home hub ?
I read that EE are releasing a wifi 7 hub Mobile network operator and UK ISP EE (BT) has today made their new Qualcomm powered WiFi 7 router (Smart Hub Pro) and wireless booster (Smart Wi-Fi Pro),
I guess I could buy my own 3rd part router but just wondered if there was a pro BT option of us, I do not want to move to EE unless I have to.
Your thoughts ?
BT currently only supply a WiFi 5 router. As they are trying to move all domestic customers over to EE, I very much doubt whether any newer BT hubs will ever become available.
hmm maybe I will google to see if I can buy a separate one, or move to EE perhaps once my contact ends
Bear in mind Digital Voice ONLY works with the BT SH2.
It's also worth being aware that we're starting to see people who buy 2nd hand hubs (that are the ISPs property) not get them provisioned.
That's exactly what I did...ditched the pre historic BT router and bought the EE wifi 6 router from a well known auction site. Literally plug and play. Noticed the EE wifi 7 is starting to make an appearance there as well.

Does EE's new router not support Digital Voice, or is EE's implementation of DV different from BT's?
.
Yes, I probably worded that badly. I assumed the OP was considering a third party router rather than an EE one.
Well I was considering either actually, may even move to EE at some point, I do not have any wifi 7 devices yet so need right now.
Wish they would just update the BT home hub but I guess they want everyone to move to EE eventually anyway.
I was informed on the phone the other day that BT will be business and EE will be domestic in the future.
