Tonights opening ceremony is showing as being available on discovery+ in UHD from 17:30 for 5 hours ,
Normally the UHD live stream on discovery+ matches the programming schedule on TNT Sports Ultimate on EETV however today the EPG says that the opening ceremony is only scheduled on TNT Sports Ultimate between 17:30 and 19:00 (a mere 90 minutes). Subseuently the TNT Sports Ultimate schedule on EETV shows coverage of the Leicester Tigers Newscastle Prem Rugby Cup from 19:30. The discovery + app currently shows two intended streams of that rugby match but neither are marked up as being in UHD.
It would be unusual for discovery+ to have two simultaenous UHD streams and it would be unusual for live UHD content on EETV TNT Sport Ultimate not to be available in at least that same level of quality on discovery+.

Hopefully there will be highlights showing just the entertaining bit /a la/ Danny Boyle's production at London 2012 which I will watch later as I am watching the footy daan the pub this evening. 🙂
