Overhead fibre lines

Go to solution

Hi all. Two years ago BT starting installing overhead fibre lines in my street. They put in a new pole beside where I always park my car and strung new lines across the road. The problem I now have is in nesting season my car is being destroyed with bird muck because they sit on the lines above my car. It may be an insignificant problem to some but I would like to keep the paintwork on my vehicle which I work hard for good. My question is can BT put a thing over the lines so birds cannot sit on the lines? Does BT have the right to blight a whole street with these lines and put them wherever they want? Is there a way to contact BT about my concern? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

The phone lines have nothing to do with BT Retail and you would need to contact openreach .

I doubt there is much that can be done to stop birds perching on the wires

It is Openreach who are responsible for the infrastructure and lines not BT however I doubt that Openreach have any control over how or what birds do but you could try asking  them and if you get a reply to your problem please post back with the result.
