Looking for help as I can’t seem to find out how to turn on private messages As I need to speak to someone through them

They are permanently on, just click on the envelope icon at the top of the page.

If you are hoping to contact one of the mods, they don't respond to unsolicited PMs.

Select your profile photo then preference then private messaging and then make sure turned on and then save

Its possible that the person you are trying to contact has private messages turned off. That used to be an option, and may still be the case.
