I agree. I have not seen this until today, but an email chain that had an escaped URL and emoticons in the reply chain had the history in the large font. I could see the latest comment. Only the history was in the very large font.
The email has a number of replies.
I tried deleting bits of the email and forwarding, but the size did not snap back.
One reply has:-
Subject: Re: RE: Contact
Then the font goes to 1638.0pt
<span style="font-size: 1638.0pt;">Hi ,</span>
<p><span style="font-size:1638.0pt;">Hope you are all okay.</span></p>
All the elements in the message have this font-size:1638.0pt; style.
I tried replicating the fault by forwarding the emails to myself and it stayed 1638.0pt;
I tried to replicate the fault by emailing my self and could not trigger the fault seen.
@Christopher_G I've not had any reports of big font on my emails and on a random check of emails, I've not found any, so after clearing cache/cookies etc, all seems fine now.
Morning @adam101
Thanks for coming back and letting us know this is working fine for you now 🙂
Have a lovely weekend.
Leanne.
I have just been informed that I am also suffering from this problem using BT web mail when I have replied to 2 different organisations. The mail in my sent box looks perfectly normal. The one received by them is unreadable and when they reply to me I can then see the enormous font in the thread for my entry. I've used the BT mail service for many years and am using microsoft Edge browser so no changes at my end.
I do not want to to have to start a new thread every time I reply to someone just in case this happens or think about changing the font to a non default option as proposed in some of this discussion and in any event I would still not be aware of the problem happening as my sent copy looks fine. Starting a new thread is particularly cumbersome workaround if you want to do reply all and there are 8 or so members on the copy list.
It may be co-incidental that the 2 occurrences I am aware of were to emails that had company logo headers and footers. I've not had anyone come back to me with this problem on personal emails.
Do we know if BT are looking into this or is it being treated as a solved problem for people using Chrome and a mail client.
On my one occassion, the Webmail on the smartphone has the big font as well as the Win 11 Edge Webmail.
I received the email from a helpdesk, and they included a message I pasted into their on line form. So are they sending the message large form.
I tried to find the message using Win 11 outlook. I forwarded it to another email account and It had the large font. My forwarded message had the large font.
This default "conversation view" is hiding the emails.
Hi there @HappyDaze
Thanks for coming here and making us aware of the email font size.
Can I check, have you tried clearing your cache/cookies?
Leanne.
Hi Leanne
I have cleared cache and all BT cookies but I've only done that very recently and have been using the work arounds suggested in the previous posts since yesterday ( new thread and selecting non default fonts) so have no way of knowing currently if the problem is still there or not.
I'll try doing a reply to a "tame" contact that notified me of the problem when they are back in the office on Monday and see if the large font issue shows itself.
Will update this post once I have a response.
