Thanks, but there is nothing I can detect on my Mac even using terminal to find hidden files
There are no obvious Sophos files anywhere
BT have closed my case as they can't help!!!
Hi @ianto1 I've had a look again at the list of what devices you can install Norton on and it advises that the Current and previous two versions of Mac OS are supported.
That would mean you would need to be on either of these versions:
OS 10.15: Catalina - 2019
OS 11: Big Sur - 2020
OS 12: Monterey - 2021
From one of your earlier posts, I think you are on Mac OS 10.13.6 so you would need to update your OS.
Thanks
John
Thanks John, I saw that, but when I went onto the Norton site it said that High Sierra 10.13.6 was supported, so I am really confused and am using other virus detect software as life is too short.
Many thanks for your help
Tom
Hi John
Just managed to remove Sophos from another Mac ( iMac Pro ) running OS 10.13.6 and successfully install all the Norton files!!
So annoying that there is a hidden file on my MacBook Pro!!
Tom
Hi John
I've cracked it and removed the hidden Sophos files and Norton works fine on OS 10.13.6!!!
Its only taken me three days to work out how to remove hidden files!!
Thanks for your help
Tom

I have now attempted to Install Norton but and constantly getting
Have a look at this post
BT Virus protect: “Server error” - BT Community
and if that does not help you should read through all of this thread and other thread about the Norton change over where you will possibly find an answer to your problem.
That does not even relate to the same issue (Android not Mac)
Apart from that I pay enough to BT for them to actually list major issues as they do here
We the customer should not have to page through (28 pages & growing) to get to a possible solution

You are quite correct but as this is a BT customer to customer self help forum do you expect other customers to do that for you!
@huwpne2022 I'm sorry to see you're experiencing problems installing BT Virus protect. Is that error happening in MyBT or during the installation of the Norton Software?
Thanks
