Certain sites & images being blocked

Yes, it is certain websites too.

I have tried 4G and everything works as normal, I tried even on a BT hotspot and that also worked fine, but the second I came back to my normal router, the issue came right back.

The only real (temporary) fix is to change DNS. I changed mine to the Google public DNS which you can easily research and I can confirm that it works but I would only use it as a temporary fix.

What's wrong with google DNS? Why only use as a temporary fix?

I’ve been having exact same problem last couple of days. I’ve got both an iPad and an iMac. Parental controls not on and have tried using various other browsers without success. Was fine on Monday, agree with you, sounds like a BT issue to me

Exactly the same except my problems started first thing Thursday 9th Oct.

Same as you , no parental controls touched, all devices the same , tried different search engines with the same result.

Kevin, mine started at exactly the same time as yours, Thursday 9th Oct. This is why I feel it is a BT issue.
