FTTP Full Fibre 900 upload speed capped at around 50Mbps.

Go to solution

Hi  @DavidM@JohnC2@DanielS@PaddyB@RobbieMac

Greetings to all,

I upgraded my FTTC to FTTP Full Fibre 900 package and it was installed on the 05/08/2021. My uploads speed seem to have been capped at around 50 Mbps. Download speeds are OK.

I would be grateful if one of you could kindly check and help fix / remove the upload cap and restore my full upload speed please?

With kind regards,

edit:  How do I share my FTTP details with you?

Hi @Camry, welcome to the forum and thanks for posting. Sorry that your upload is capped at 50Mb. The hub should have automatically lifted the cap within 72 hrs of connection. I've sent you a Private Message so you can get in touch with the Mod team and we'll be happy to help you get this upload fixed.

cheers

John

Hi @JohnC2 ,

My SH2 was faulty and I received a replacement SH2 today (11/08/2021).  As suggested, I'll wait for 72 hrs  for the upload speed cap to be automatically removed.  If the cap persists, I'll PM you.

With kind regards,

72 hours is 3 days, therefore patience is required until 14th August if you received the new hub on 11th August.

@Carlusha

Tests were done using Ethernet CAT8 cables connected to the SH2 LAN port.

Until 13/05/2021 midnight, upload speed was capped around 50Mbps...Download speed was OK.

Then on Saturday(14/08/2021) the upload speed cap was removed and whole day I was getting around 105Mbps. Thank you. The download speed was OK too.

However, yesterday, Sunday(15/08/2021) from around 8:10am onwards, my upload speed seems to be capped again at around 50Mbps. Download speed has dropped around 460Mbps

Checked again today several times, my upload speed is still capped. Download speed fluctuating between 460 - 480Mbps.

I would appreciate if one of the MOD's could kindly check and reset / restore my full download and upload speed please?

With kind regards,

@JohnC2@Carlusha,

Both download and upload speeds have now been fixed / restored today (17/08/2021).

Did a speed test just now and got 902.15Mbps download and 105.26Mbps Upload.

A big, big thank you to all who have worked tirelessly behind scenes both at BT retail and OpenReach to restore my Full Fibre 900 speed.

With kind regards,

@JohnC2,  @Carlusha,

My upload speed seems to be  capped again at 50Mbps when using the Smart Hub-2 (SH2) .   Download speed is OK.

Can you kindly check and reset / remove my upload 50Mbps speed cap on SH2 please?

With kind regards.
