Reported to the BT Diagnostics Bot as a phone line fault. Someone rang back after a few text messages and told me there is no fault on the phone line and my StayFast guarantee for broadband is 41mb, and I’m within it so nothing can be done.
My Fibre 2 router stats have been identical for three days now, despite the odd dropout. Still showing just under 55/12. Fibre 1 also showed the same stats, but I’ve been told that I won’t get any better because my line isn’t capable of higher speeds. The fibre cabinet is very close to my address and I had much faster speeds not that long ago…
I'll ask if one of the mods can take a look.
Thank you 🙂
Hi @NorthernStar and thanks for posting.
I'll be happy to take a closer look at this for you. I'll drop you a private message now so you can get in touch. Thanks @licquorice for bringing this to my attention.
Cheers
David
Thank you, David. I’ve just replied to your pm.
Many thanks to David, Daniel and others in this thread.
It was discovered that my line had been banded. The banding has been removed and my speeds have been increasing. I’m now on 18488/62973 after being up for just over five days.
Hi @NorthernStar thanks for the update and it's good news that the banding has now lifted 🙂
Cheers
John
Sadly the problems are back but are much worse. Throughput, attenuation, speeds well below ‘Stay Fast’ etc. It’s worsened since yesterday. Looks like a fault somewhere on my line or at the fibre cabinet, which I can almost see from my house. Shocking attenuation figures for the first time ever. They have always been around 9 to 11 before.
