Hi all
I currently have adsl connection. I have openreach out 3 times to my house due to various faults. Last visit the engineer had to connect my landline to another cabinet due to previous fault engineer going to the wrong address and connecting my line to another house.
Anyway.. he was here for a while once reconnected and testing the line. He kept saying when the router connects there is a high resistance on the line, when the router is off it goes back to normal. Now we agreed to leave it and see how it goes.
I went to make a call today and I can hear audible noise on the line that gets louder and then it stops. When it stops I notice the router has disconnected.. purple light flashing.
When the router reconnects the noise comes back. Rinse repeat.
Is this acceptable or do I still have a fault somewhere? The troubleshooter says it can't find a fault on the landline but clearly there is ??
Thanks
certainly a fault and report phone fault to 151
What kind of Hub do you have?
On some long lines Hub 5’s create a HR Fault. Not come across one for a while but when we did we always advised they move to a Hub 4. Although you can’t get them now so would be best to try a Hub 6.
I have the latest smart hub 2, as I got sent it for FTTP but tuned out it stopped down the road so kept the router.
