BT have sent me a Smart Hub 2 to replace a faulty Hub 4.
1. Do I still need the white Openreach box that currently sits between the wall socket and the Hub 4?
2. If not, then do I need a filter plugged into the wall socket (as described by the Smart Hub instructions for a single socket)?
3. And if so, where do I get one?

you do not need to use the white modem. Just take the cable from master socket to the modem and connect it to the dsl socket on the SH2. That it plug and play
Make sure you have turned of smart setup
