Whole home premium

I have picked up a premium 3 set of discs and for the first 2 weeks had perfect performance.  They then started to reset.  I tried updating and rolling back firmware.  Nothing seemed to help.

Now I tried turning them on and not updating ssid to what my smarthub2 is (I did this originally to avoid having to reconnect 30ish smart bulbs) not one disconnect in over 24 hours.

I then updated ssid and it was a disconnect every 10 minutes.  Is my proposed changing of ssid flawed somehow.  I've seen others with premium issues do you use the ssid of your previous network or leave it as is?

I did turn smart hub wifi off.

Thanks

Re: Whole home premium

@Grumpywilber I'm sorry to see you're having problems. As it's a separate mesh network to that of your router you're likely causing a conflict by changing the SSID and devices are getting confused.

If you need further help with this I'd recommend getting in touch with the helpdesk.

Re: Whole home premium

5hanks but if I turn the WiFi on the router off should this not negate any confusion?

@Grumpywilber Yes, that should work.

Re: Whole home premium

Thought so that's when it restarts. I also have all the devices or at least most 35 to 40 on the master disc that reboots when there are a number of lights in same room as second disk.

Also are the white premium wifi 6.  Only reason I ask is my phone is showing a 6 next to the WiFi  symbol.

Re: Whole home premium

Hi @Grumpywilber Yes, they work on the 802.11ax wireless standard if your device is compatible.

Thanks

Re: Whole home premium

Cheers Neil, but any idea why changing ssid causes restarts.

Re: Whole home premium

When did the Whole Home Premium start supporting Wi-Fi 6 end points ? I thought the 802.11ax channel was only used for backhaul.

Re: Whole home premium

Hi @Marcel That could well be the case.  I got the tech specs from this link and it mentioned the following wireless
standards IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax  I'm sorry for any confusion caused.

This is the link that explains the differences between the different whole home wifi discs

Thanks

Neil
