@valofstoney that sounds like a hard drive failure and if it is, the box is dead. If you have an active BT/EE subscription, report it as a fault and they should replace the box for you
@valofstoney is this a box that was known to be working and has recently developed the problem or one that may not have not been used for some time ?
The likely scenario as you have an active subscription is that BT would supply a replacement loan box (probably a later model).
