If you normally use the laptop when its charger is plugged in it could be a faulty charger that is causing electrical interference or it could be what ever the fault is/was on the laptop is/was causing wifi interference which in turn caused the hub to drop out.
You will have to try "trial and error" to try and establish if either of that could be the problem. ie unplug and disconnect the laptop charger and do not use the charger when running the laptop to see if the problem is still there.
If the problem is not there you will know it is the charger causing the problem.
I have checked Network Adapter does have MAC randomisation and is Enabled. The problem started early June and don't think any settings were changed and is the same laptop
The BT hub DHCP server is hopeless, it just uses up addresses and doesn't release them. Try disabling MAC randomisation and see if that fixes the problem.
Having had the same problem for 30 months, both BT / Openreach were insistent that the issue was internal and my interior hardware, including cabling, has been changed on multiple occasions. However and although this remedy was first suggested in November 2023, an upgraded "ONT" was finally installed yesterday, on the 17th visit from an Openreach engineer. Its been less than 24 hours, but I am not aware of any drops in connection, which for the last 30 months, have been happening on a daily basis. I will keep you posted.
Thanks Quesada. Openreach changed my ONT a few months ago but the internet drop outs continued. Hope it works for you. Looks like you were having to reset your hub more often than I do!
No problem Barry. I won’t lie, because it’s been a frustrating 30 months, but this forum would suggest that as more customers are being affected, BT / Openreach are finally having to take this issue seriously. I will keep you posted.
Hi Barry. When your ONT was replaced, was it with a like for like model, or was it with the new all singing and dancing version, which is noticeably larger.
Have tried the doing as suggested in message 34?
Hi Quesada. The ONT was Like for like
