North West Latency spikes

I'm on a 500mbps package with full fibre. Is anyone else in the North West (Manchester more specifically) experiencing latency spikes recently.

My Broadband Ping - BT FTTP Monitor

Averages are still low, but this is still wildly more latency than my usual connection experiences on a day to day basis. Should I reset my modem perhaps?

Re: North West Latency spikes

Hi @CabbagesBritT, sorry you're experiencing latency spikes. The best thing to do is only connect one device to the broadband with an Ethernet cable and check the latency as it may not be a network issue. Try that and see what the latency is like.

Cheers

John

Re: North West Latency spikes

This measures latency directly to my router. It is extremely unlikely a device on my network could affect the latency since they don't exist along this path. It's just the ping times from Server -> ONT -> Router, that's it. I've rebooted my router to no affect. I've then rebooted the ONT which seems to have had an effect but I won't know for sure until I see the data from a few hours from now.
