Openreach

Go to solution

Hi all,

When moving from one Openreach provider to another exactly the same speeds contracts will the performance be identical?

In terms of the physical layer (DSL or FTTP), yes.

In terms of throughput, not necessarily as variables such as routing and congestion may differ between providers.

In practical terms, they will be very similar if not identical.

Many thanks!

One lives and learns!

I’d presumed that it would be an absolutely identical passge!

Re: Openreach

It's very similar because Openreach is the last-mile infrastructure provider. But your ISP will control some level of routing, your "Point Of Presence," and a default DNS (though DNS usually has a very minimal effect).

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
