PS5 Pro only lags during the day/ before around 12am?

Go to solution

I’ve posted a few questions in the past few days, because i’m trying to fix this so badly. I have an issue where during the day, my PS5 Pro on games such as Warzone, Black ops 7, and FC 26, get bad ping jitter and spikes. I usually, have a stable 5-15ping in these games, and around every 20-30 seconds, it would rapidly shoot up to a random number, and cause my whole game to hitch me around and teleport me. I have noticed in the past few days that this has been happening, i use a TP Link 1000MBPS adapter to connect to the internet, however i have also tried wireless and this same thing happens. Now whats weird, is this only happens in the morning and during the day.. i can only really play games past midnight roughly (this is a guess) and this is bad because of course, i want to play after work. Why could this be and how could i fix it? (Ethernet hard wiring is not an option as the router is the complete other side of the house)

Games only lag during the day.

Go to solution

I did ask this question the other day, however nobody wanted to answer yet my post getting 100 views, so i’ll try again.

My Ps5 seems to only want to get ping jitters and stutters every 10 seconds during the day. In the night time, all this lag completely stops and it’s the best gameplay i can possibly play in. I’m asking if anyone can help me in anyway here or let me know what’s going on. I use a TP Link 1000mbps adapter, and get around 200mbps.

Nobody has answered because nobody has a solution.

I have deleted your other thread with the same question as duplication is both pointless and leads to confusion.

Well is there anything i can do? I already contacted BT about it and they sent me a new router, is there a chance my bandwidth usage is being throttled during normal hours and is there anyway i would be able to check that?

No, your bandwidth is not being throttled by BT.

Until you verify whether the problem exists with a direct Ethernet connection rather than via WiFi or powerline, I doubt you will get any help.

I plugged it straight into the router via ethernet and this issue instantly went away. This isn’t a viable solution for me though because the router is too far away for me to do that, and even using a long cable isn’t good because my family won’t want a long cable running along walls or floors.

Unfortunately the solution is in your hands. WiFi and powerline adapters are subject to interference.

I have been with BTFTTP since December 2024, and using power line adapters for like a decade and this issue only started a month ago and have never had ping issues before, I don’t think using power line adapters is the issue.

So why does it work ok with a direct Ethernet connection then?

Adapters go faulty or sources of interference come and go.

I know it’s not a faulty adapter or interference because my brother also uses the same adapter, never lags. My PC is plugged into one too, no lag whatsoever.. Of course this could be a PS5 Issue, however when i contact sony and tell them it’s only during the day, they claim my bandwidth usage could be being throttled, and that i need to contact my ISP, which i have already done. I have also used multiple different adapters i have laying around and they have the same issue.
