Charged twice

After BT moved my mobile to EE when updating my broadband, I have been charged by both of them for full month in advance for EE, which I expect and for a whole month which started 3 days after my new contract with EE, I was out of contract with BT mobile. 
Do I await a refund or do I have to request this?

Meant to read: both BT and EE have taken the direct debit for advance month from May to June,
