Reading about the problems renewing I thought I would tell of my experience. My contract was due to end at the beginning of October, I am on FibreHalo3 with speeds c43/18.
When signed in to MyBT I would intermittently get the message “Happy with your current contract, renew”
On renewing a couple of weeks ago I was offered PAYG, Unlimited or keep what I had for the phone. I kept “my anytime calls”.
I am still with BT and had an unexplained price reduction of about £8.

Further evidence that it's a complete lottery. I can supposedly "renew at the same price" but in reality, they want to charge me an additional £3 for the PAYG service I already have.
I will be moving to another supplier who is offering exactly the same service for £8 less.
I have been reading Ofcom rules and they clearly state that your provider could offer your cheaper deals.
@edbostan - Do you have a link to the specific Ofcom rule?
As in my situation BT refuse to allow me to stay with them and reduce the cost.
