Switching to Home Essentials

Go to solution

Hi, I am currently on a 24-month BT Halo 3 contract which started in November 2021. I qualify for Home Essentials and would like to switch to it. Can I do it without paying an early exit fee?

Actually I already tried to do it online and it would let me do it (with tomorrow as a starting date), but I am worried to proceed to checkout, because it doesn’t say anything about my existing contract. Also I just paid yesterday for a new month. So what happens with this payment then?

Thank you in advance.

@Riri81

I would suspect that your existing contract would be cancelled, and a new one started, but you may get a reply from another forum member with a more definitive reply.

Thank you. I have read this. It doesn’t explain if I have to pay an early exit fee for my current contract.

there are other similar posts on forum if you use search facility and don't remember any of poster being required to pay an exit fee just you start a new contract.  you probably would be better phoning CS 150 or 0800800150 from mobile and they should help you

If anyone else is interested, I just talked to them. There is no fee. They switched me to Home Essentials starting from tomorrow.
