Yes - seems to have been a remote issue.
I tried again in exactly the same way and it logged in OK.

I've also been able to log in again - just as I was waiting to get through on one of those chat messaging things to ask BT for help.
I have also been able to back log-in - whatever was wrong appears to be cleared - I do hope whoever in BT managed this has properly logged the solution in case of re-occurence.
Mine is also working now.
