Unlink Xbox/MS account from BT/EE

Previously I've paid for my Gamepass subscription via my BT account. I'm no longer a BT customer however logging into my Microsoft account advises me that my payment and account is still managed by BT/EE. How can I go about removing this connection so I can pay again via my own methods?

Hopefully one of the mods will pick this up for you.

The only other way round it I have ever found (assuming you do not have a currently active pass), is to buy a code (like a code for a month of Ultimate) and enter it into an Xbox app on PC or on the console itself.

That will not work if you have a current pass linked to BT/EE.
