Re: EETV

Failing the broadcast date being available presumably the source files(s) will have a creation/modified date that could be used as a decent proxy. Some streaming services I use often have the date one day later than then event but that would suffice for the use case I gave.

Ah, yes!  I see the progress bar on my mobile for an extended highlights I watched yesterday.  I will have to remember to cast BT TV from my phone all the time rather than use the Youview box app.  In any case the mobile app seems to get any new content appreciably sooner that the Youview box app.  Another  approach would be to make a note of the weekend's matches in my copy of the Radio Times and tick them off as I go (annoying that there is not web site I can find that lists recent and upcoming fixtures without sticking the result on those games already played).

Re: EETV

Unfortunately I've been unable to find a suitable date that we can present. We do have a date of when the video became available on the platform, but it's not reliable - e.g. with our rights a video could be available for a few days, then removed for a while, then get added again - it would show the more recent added date, rather than the original.

I've raised a product request to see if it's something that can be added in future, but I doubt it's likely to make the cut.

Re: EETV

I appreciate that this is an 'old' thread, but I have this morning received an email telling me that from 15th October my EE TV will become BT TV again!

Time to switch to Sky I think while BT / EE sort themselves out - we never did get any benefit from the original merger / branding change. 😉

Re: EETV

The only thing that changes is the branding - the colour of the light on the front of the box, and the logo/colours of the interface.

Re: EETV

@philip42h  BT TV really went downhill anyway, in my opinion.  Sky TV is better.  Just be aware that if it is IP based TV, (they reckon they are phasing the satellite version out), then the Sky TV "puck" uses a lot of bandwidth.  It seems to hog about 5 or 6Mb/s to itself.

Re: EETV

... and it was no more than a branding change last time. BT seem to have an identity crisis ...

Re: EETV

It's simply responding to customer feedback - customers liked the BT brand and didn't like switching to something that felt unknown to them.  We're fixing that now by giving customers choice - BT Broadband with BT TV, or EE Broadband with EE TV.

Either way, it's mostly the same product (the only real difference is that Apple TV is only available on EE TV).

Re: EETV

BT broadband customers with EETV will be moved over to a new BTTV app from 15th October from what I’ve just seen. I’m guessing that this comes within Darren’s remit, so I’m very confident that there won’t be any issues here.

We’ve remained out of contract for various reasons since March, but I’m pleased to say that there has been a considerable improvement with the EPG issues that were causing real problems with recordings. Although it still isn’t perfect and the EPG does not always switch over to the current programme.

Re: EETV

Blue light, Green light it doesn't really matter so long as it works, and it mostly does.

Just one question, when oh when are we going to get Sky Sports in 4k UHD ???

Re: EETV

Many of us have been wondering that for over 2 years now. It was hinted at then that it would only be for those on EE broadband when it does eventually arrive. Hopefully that won’t be the case now.
