I can send emails from my bt account but when the recipient replies, I do not get the reply because it goes to a hotmail account set up in my name. I have no access to this hotmail account and therefore do not get to read the replies.
mail clients usually have a "Reply to" field which is blank by default. Sounds like yours is populated with this Hotmail address that needs deleting.
I don’t own a hotmail address and haven’t set up anything to reply to a different address. How to I unpopulate this field?
Alternatively, a rule has been set up to forward the emails to the hotmail address.
Are you saying that you didn't create the Hotmail address.
Click on your username in the top right corner, click Settings > Mail > Auto forwarding and check that nothing has been configured.
Also check Settings > Mail > Rules and ensure no rules have been set up
Thank you for your response. I have checked in settings and neither auto-forwarding or any rules have been set up. I haven’t created a hotmail account but somehow a reply to has been set up that it all goes to.
How are you sending mail, through webmail or an app?
Are you using a web browser or are you using an email client or email app on any of your devices?
EDIT. Post crossed with above.
Does this happen to all replies or just from one person?
From the BT App. I’ve just tried from webmail and the email doesn’t seem to be received by the recipient. (I tried sending my daughter an email)
