I'm having the same issue on all email addresses. I'm trying to send a test email from the bt email website to myself and I still get the 553 error message. Help please!
Thanks
Colin
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @colinrivett, welcome to the forum and sorry that you're getting this error when trying to send emails.
Do you get the error using webmail? www.bt.com/email
Try a reboot of the hub so you get allocated a different IP address.
Are you using a VPN? if so switch it off and try again.
Have a look at: https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/Error-553-AGAIN/m-p/2272610 for some advice that may help.
Cheers
John
Hi @JohnC2 ,
Thanks for the reply. I am using www.bt.com/email. I am not using a VPN and I tried sending an email from work this afternoon and from home this evening. I get Error 553. This has now been happening for 4 or 5 days.
Anything else I can try?
Thanks
Colin

Hi @colinrivett,
Thanks for allowing me to look into all of this for you.
As you are aware, our anti-spam vendor had been marking your webmail emails as spam. We got them to correct this which fixed the issue for you.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Thank you

Hi, welcome to the forums.
The only solution to this common problem is NOT to use BTinternet - use something else like Gmail.
Using btinternet for business email is certainly not recommended at all.
