when I start to compose an email the cursor first goes to the cc line, then jumps up to the email address line at the top, but when I start to type an email address which is in my contacts list, it will not accept it when I click on the corect option as it pops up - very frustrating as I then have to keep typing until I can check against the full email address. All very slow and annoying! Any ideas out there?

The autofill of contacts is a browser function, not a BT function.
If you are using Firefox your problem may be the same as that in this thread.
Email, compose address not working - BT Community
Make sure that your browser is updated to the latest version.
Yes - same problem as reported. I have upgraded to latest version of Firefox (10 March), but problem still exists
Then I guess the latest version of Firefox doesn't fix the problem. Have Firefox indicated that it would?
I have contacted Firefox and they have replied -
Hi,
Sorry for that. This issue is tracked under bug 2012085 and is being worked on.
I'm an engineer on the Firefox team, I would happily help diagnose the issue, but without an email account to reproduce the issue, there's not much I can do to diagnose the issue.
If an engineer working at BT would kindly provide me with some instructions (or ability) to set up or sign into an email account I can use this to diagnose the issue. Thanks!
It is a simple matter for those complaining of this problem to create a test account that could be used, this has been requested previously but the original complainents seems reluctant to assist Firefox in resolving the issue.
If you can provide me with some instructions as to what is wanted I will do my best to help
