We are not actually on DV service at present ( should be in a week or two, ) however , the DV adapter arrived so i thought Id pair it with the hub in readiness , but it wont pair up using the buttons.
Should it pair up at this stage - or - is it because we havent migrated to DV yet, and thats why it wont pair.
thanks
DV needs a SH2 router , that has a built in DECT base station, the DV adapter is also DECT so by plugging a standard phone into it , allows the standard phone to connect to the SH2 , it’s a little weird that if you don’t have a SH2 but a Hub 6 that they sent you out a PN adapter without also providing you a SH2 .
It won't pair with a hub 6 at all and it won't pair with a smart hub 2 until your DV goes live. No idea why not, as DV handsets pair before DV activated.
Ahh, ok. Does this mean that I should be having sent out a new Smart Hub 2 , to replace the Hub 6 then ? - BT havent mentioned anything apart from the card saying a hub will be sent if its needed ? If this is the case , do you know whether the smart hub 2 has advanced settings , that you can log into ? thanks
The SH2 has setting you can alter by accessing an ‘advanced’ menu , but it’s not the necessarily the same as previous BT Hubs , some user configurable settings from early hubs are not available on the SH2 .
Should you be provided with a SH2 so you can access DV ? , Yes , unless you have previously had one provided and you have chosen not to use it and continue using an older model ( this being your own personal choice ) …..if you get to close to the change to DV migration date and no SH2 is sent ( never having one provided previously ) , you should call and ask why you haven’t been sent one .
