Hi - New BT Contract so Engineer moved us to Digital Voice yesterday, but moved my main phone from downstairs so it could be connected to the router, but now I have no phone downstairs and my wife is over 80 and classed as venerable
Please could someone offer any solutions ?

Ask BT for a free Digital Voice adapter. It is effectively a portable phone socket that just needs mains power. You simply plug a phone into it as you would any other phone socket.

This may not work for you but when I had twin babies and had to take calls the next day I bought a very very long extension lead so I could be plugged in downstairs and the traditional landline could be answered upstairs . That is very messy probably dangerous trip hazard but presumably also works
