Hi all. Does anyone know if BT offer a stand-alone ATA option for Digital Voice? Doing it through the Smart Hub is a pain, so I'm thinking of dumping DV and moving to VoIP instead.
Digital Voice is BTs version of VoIP.
It wasn't a pain for me once I had the new hub as all I had to do was plug an adapter in. sync it to the hub and plug my phone into it without having to move it from its existing spot.
So, when you say “new hub” what exactly are you referring to? And when you say plug in an adapter, what exactly was that?
Also, does the SH2 still need to be the first thing connected to the ONT, as that is what is really causing me grief.
Yes, the hub needs to be connected directly to the ONT.
The DV adapter (obtainable free from BT) is simply a portable ATA (phone socket) that just requires a mains socket and can be located where required. It simply connects back to the hub via DECT.
