Extension phone on DV not ringing

Hi,

I recently changed to BT and Digital Voice (DV). My main phone which is connected to the hub supplied by BT (Smart Hub 2) works fine. However, I have an extension phone in another room which, although it works, never rings.

I set it up using the Digital Voice Adapter supplied and, when I pick it up, get the dialling tone. I can dial out on it. But when somebody calls me, the extension phone does not ring. Only the main phone rings. The extension phone is plugged into the adapter which is plugged in to the mains.

Is this to be expected or do I need to do something to get my extension phone to ring?

you could try using an old style filter if you have one from time used for broadband

Just so you're aware, from what I've seen posted before, not all mircofilters will solve this problem.  It appears only some do.

Sorry, can't give you any clarification on how you tell the difference.

Thanks WSH. There are so many on Amazon, I shall have to look carefully and read the reviews. Maybe another contributor to the forum will see this and point me in the right direction. Thanks for your contribution.
