This problem has been going on for at least 6 months now. I have contacted BT numerous times but they don’t seem to be able to fix it! I never asked for my number to be withheld. This is causing me great problems as some companies don’t answer withheld number calls. I have been told by BT to post this and ask for a moderator. I am not happy about the increase in my bill from April when I am not getting the service I signed up for!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Have you checked on MyBT > Your Products > Landline > Manage > More features to see if it's shown there?
I want my number displayed so that people can see it’s me who is calling them. I already know how to conceal my number if I want to.
can I have a reply from someone with common sense please? This is a ridiculous situation!!!
I think the point @rbz5416 was making was if you go to my BT it should not say 'ADD NOW' as already exists so you should be able switch off the withheld number
You are not going to get any help with that attitude.
@rbz5416 was asking you to check if it had inadvertently been enabled in MyBT
My apologies to all concerned! I thought I was messaging someone at BT not kind members of the public trying to help out. I’m so sorry if I offended anyone, that was not my intention. Just so frustrated with BT. 😢

This is just a customer to customer help forum, everyone here, including myself, are just customers.
The only BT Employees are the forum moderators.
Its possible you may have a crossed line.
Have you tried calling your home number from a mobile to see if your phone rings?
If it does not ring, then its possible your line is crossed with another which is withheld.
Dial 1470 17070 on your home phone and make a note of the number that is read out. If its not your number, then call BT and say your line is crossed with that number.
You may also notice calls listed on your phone bill, that you did not make.
I understand now that it is a public forum and I’m not messaging BT - as I originally thought.
Once again - my humble apologies.
I have tried everything to remedy this problem - nothing works. One of the BT staff I spoke to (amongst the many) said that this is a tricky situation that he has only come across once before. He said it took a lot to sort it out. He said he would try to remedy my situation and call me back. He never did.
I was told to ask for a Moderator on this site? How does that happen please?
Many thanks
