Anyone know if other providers can ensure the closing PSTN line number can be transferred to a new digital voice line provider? Is it only BT?
Sky are installing fibre into the home next week and say our 40 yr old number currently with Shell cannot be transferred. I don't believe them.

This has nothing to do with BT Retail, you need to ask on the Sky User Forum, for advice, as it varies depending on the provider.

Getting nowhere with Sky, so I will try its Forum.
Neil is a BT Employee, and can only help if you were moving to BT Retail, or are an existing BT Retail customer.
Porting between other suppliers are the responsibility of the gaining provider. Bear in mind, that each provider has their own number ranges, so that can present difficulties.
