Register essentials handsets

Go to solution

Should I be able to register my handsets to the hub before Digital Voice has been activated?

Nothing happens when I press the WPS button on the hub.  It flashes blue but the handset does not register.

I got the impression from the quick start guide that came with the handsets that I could register first, then wait for them to spring to life on activation day, but it looks like I have to wait for DV to be activated first.

Or should it work and there is a problem that is stopping registration from working.

Yes, you can register the handsets before DV is activated. You can't register adapters for some strange reason though.

Register via the handset.

Menu > settings > registration

Thanks, after resetting hub and another couple of goes they registered.  My digital voice activated this morning and they are now working fine, with the exception of Caller id, which has not yet started working.  Hopefully that is just temporary and the line activation has not finished rather than a problem.

What an utterly stupid system.  Why on earth would caller display not be enabled by default?  When I go into the my BT app and try and enable it, it says not possible as there is an open order on my line.  First impressions of BT DV are not that great so far...
