BT FULL FIBRE 900

Go to solution

Joining BT next week but want to keep using own router which I use for my current connection with VM. I have a linksys velop wifi 6 mesh system I am reading different things on here and as far as I can gather I can drop the bt home hub and just connect my own system direct to the ONT and connect via pppoe. Does anybody have any more information regarding this and are there any other settings that need changing.

Thanks

Providing you are not getting Digital voice you are free to use your own router.

Then you can connect directly to the ONT using the generic PPPoE credentials of username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password BT

I seen a few people suggesting when using own equipment they dont get the full speed and may have to change MTU settings?

Do you seriously think you will notice if you don't get the full 900?

Spoiler
Well I’m currently getting 1gb from virgin, and that’s beyond the point isn’t it … if I’m paying for 900 I want to be getting as close to that as I can
