BT Full fiber 900MBs

Hello, I'm wondering if someone can give me some guidance.

I recently upgraded to full fiber 900, everything got fitted fine. But, no matter if I'm right next to the hub or 1 meter away, it still says, on the wifi signal checker that my signal is low. Only showing 2 bars and could be stronger. As requested by the app I did diagnostics and it discovered a fault. I had the hub refresh the wifi several times but to no avail. I contacted BT and they said the connection from the line to the hub is perfectly fine as it should be. But I still have this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Re: BT Full fiber 900MBsw

I would log a call and get the SH2 replaced. I find it’s wireless performance poor and unreliable and I suspect firmware issues for the latter but in your case it sounds more fundamental.

Re: BT Full fiber 900MBsw

Hi mate thanks for the reply, I already have another SH2 from my last package 4 days ago, just tried it with that and I got 2 excellent connections, did the same test 5 minutes later in the same location and it went back to poor. Am I best just ringing and try and explain to them?

Have you turned off smart setup?

I don’t use the SH2 but can you manually select Wi-Fi channel?

Re: BT Full fiber 900MBsw

I would download a Wi-Fi inspector app to see if there is a possibility of co-channel interference from another device.

Re: BT Full fiber 900MBsw

Try switching off 5g and manually selecting another 2.4g channel. If there are “radio modes” available try mode 2.

Obviously change one thing at a time to isolate the issue.

Re: BT Full fiber 900MBsw

Checked the network for the channels and everything seems alright.

Also tried changing modes, thinking of asking for another new SH2 Maybe it'll fix things.
