On the advanced menu.

Operation mode - should be Access Point

Fast roaming - disabled   (its not compatible with many devices and causes disconnects)

Beamforming  - enabled

If you have BT TV, then you will have to leave it in this mode when you get FTTP, as you will still need to use the BT Smart Hub 2.

No need to apologise, you might wanna charge your phone though. 

I think your DECO is in the wrong mode.....its in Router mode when your BT Hub is the router, you should change it, but ill let @Keith_Beddoe confirm.

You are in the wrong mode, so I am surprised that you do not get more issues, especially with gaming, as it would not be possible to get Open NAT.

You can change this to Access Point mode. The system will reboot, so make sure that nobody is connected to the Deco.

You will lose the other menu options, as they are not applicable in Access mode.

After reboot, devices will be issued with new IP addresses from the Home hub subnet.

Its just unfortunate that the initial setup of the Deco, is very confusing, and is really aimed at cable routers, so it defaults to router mode. It has to be changed once a connection is established.

I would tend to leave it in Access Point mode, even when you get FTTP, as you are going to need to keep the home hub connections for BT TV.

Its not going to work in router mode on FTTP if connected directly to the ONT, without entering PPPoE credentials, so its best lest in Access Point mode for simplicity, especially if you have any issues with the FTTP connection in future.

I do not have BT TV and I totally agree, the initial set up of the Deco was very confusing and unnecessarily confusing.

Can you please tell me if below looks correct and should I be looking to find 'Beamforming' - that you mentioned previously?
